How it works

  1. 1. Download the app and setup your profile
    Your information will be encrypted and shared only with CBP.
  2. 2. Answer a few questions
    Answer CBP’s brief questions about your trip and review all of your information.
  3. 3. Submit your information upon arrival
    Once you are at your port of entry, submit your data to CBP. Within a few seconds, you will receive a receipt with an encrypted barcode (valid for 4 hours).
  4. 4. Save time!
    Follow the Mobile Passport Control signs and show your passport to the CBP officer and scan the barcode on the receipt.

Frequently asked questions

Who may use Mobile Passport?
U.S. citizens with a valid U.S. passport and Canadian citizens with both a valid Canadian passport and B1 or B2 visa status.

Is the Mobile Passport app secure?
Yes. Setup a PIN and/or TouchID to open the app on your device. Your personal data is saved only on your mobile device and transmitted securely to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for review.

Does the app replace my passport?
No. The Mobile Passport app replaces the traditional paper customs declaration form. You must still present your valid physical passport during inspections with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

What ports of entry support Mobile Passport?
