Leslie obtained her Bachelor's degree in History, Spanish, and French. She was attracted to languages because they represented far away places. After spending time sailing and delivering yachts to wonderful and unusual destinations (Kipnuk, Alaska and TruK Lagoon), she was offered the opportunity to join the team at the local travel agency. She began by booking trips for her friends who set out on vacations to wild, wonderful and unusual places. Since then, she has broadened her horizons and now plans vacations to Europe, Africa, and Ski destinations. She thinks that the wonderful thing about travel is that it can be enjoyed by people of any economic level. Her challenge is to professionally service clients with diverse backgrounds and expectations and show them how valuable she truly is.
Unique Travel Experience
Leslie traveled to Russia on a familiarization trip quite a few years ago - before perestroika. She was lucky that her trip leader spoke fluent Russian, becasue when they landed at the airport there was no one to meet them. No one knew quite what do with the group and it took numerous phone calls before the bus arrived and took them to the hotel. Since the group was so late the hotel had given away their rooms and the city was sold out. Leslie and her group spent the night sleeping on leatherette booth seats in the hotel bar. The local guide found them the next morning embarrassed to say the least.
