Expedited Passport - Lost or Stolen PDF Print E-mail

The government processing time for a standard US passport is now in excess of 10 weeks; however, Casto has cut the average time down to 3 – 4 weeks. We are also able to process a limited number of Emergency overnight and unlimited Expedited requests.


Step 1: Report your stolen passport to the police

Step 2: Gather Required Documents for U.S. Citizens

  • Certified birth certificate with embossed seal; or
  • Original naturalization papers

  • Statement Regarding Lost or Stolen Passport form – U.S. Department of State DS-64
  • Application form – U.S. Department of State DS-11
    • Instructions: accept the Privacy Policy and then choose to apply for a Passport Book, Passport Card, or Both
    • Complete the appropriate form online
    • Print two (2) complete copies
    • Do not sign until requested in Step 2


Step 3: Visit a local passport acceptance facility to request a sealed envelope with all above documents

  • Bring two (2) checks (cash and credit card not accepted) – one will be for $25 for the processing facility and the other will be for $135 for the Department of State passport and expedite fees
  • Ask the clerk to execute the documents and place them in a sealed envelope addressed to the U.S. Passport Agency
  • If you encounter a problem with a clerk refusing to do this procedure, please refer them to page 31 of the Passport Agent’s Manual “Hand Carrying of Executed Applications”
  • Retain one (1) copy of the form DS-11 and one (1) copy of the Letter of Authorization for Casto

Step 4: Provide Casto with completed documents within 2 business days of obtaining sealed envelope

  • Sealed envelope from Step 2
  • Completed Casto Registration Form
  • One (1) copy of the form DS-11 and one (1) copy of the Letter of Authorization

  • Visit a Casto location; or
  • Send via FedEx, UPS, DHL, or Priority Overnight service (standard US Postal mail will not arrive in time) to: Casto Visa | Passport, 900 Lafayette Street, Suite 105, Santa Clara, CA 95050; or
  • Have our Courier Service pick up the documents from your office
