Expedited Children's Passport PDF Print E-mail

The government processing time for a standard US passport is now in excess of 10 weeks; however, Casto has cut the average time down to 3 – 4 weeks. We are also able to process a limited number of Emergency overnight and unlimited Expedited requests.

Step 1: Gather Required Documents for U.S. Citizens Aged 15 and Under

  • Child’s certified birth certificate with embossed seal; or
  • Child’s original naturalization papers

  • Parent’s government issued identification (i.e. state issued driver’s license or military ID)
  • Proof of child/parent relationship

  • Certified U.S. birth certificate with parent’s names; or
  • Certified foreign birth certificate with parent’s names and translation if necessary; or
  • Report of birth abroad (form FS-240) with parent’s names; or
  • Certification of birth abroad (form DS-1350) with parent’s names; or
  • Adoption decree with adopting parent’s names; or
  • Court order establishing custody; or
  • Court order establishing guardianship

  • Application form – U.S. Department of State DS-11
  • Instructions: accept the Privacy Policy and then choose to apply for a Passport Book, Passport Card, or Both
  • Complete the appropriate form online
  • Print two (2) complete copies
  • Do not sign until requested in Step 2
  • Please do not fold your printed DS11 or DS3053 application forms, as the US Passport Agency will not accept folded applications. Folding may render a distorted image when placed on a flatbed scanner during the actual issuance process.

  • Two (2) standard 2"x 2" passport photos recently taken (within last 6 months) with plain white background. Photos must be on high quality photographic paper. Digital photos if submitted, must be of high resolution, no grainy photos will be accepted. We take high quality passport photos at our San Jose location.
  • Casto locations and pricing
  • Complete two (2) copies of the Letter of Authorization
  • Confirmed itinerary for travel within 2 weeks or, if not available, Letter in Lieu of Travel Itinerary from your employer

Step 2: Visit a local passport acceptance facility to request a sealed envelope with all above documents

  • Bring two (2) checks (cash and credit card not accepted) – one will be for $25 for the processing facility and the other will be for $120 for the Department of State passport and expedite fees.  SINCE YOUR APPLICATION FORM WILL BE HAND CARRIED, THERE IS NO NEED TO PAY TO THE US POST OFFICE ANY EXTRA RETURN POSTAGE.  Casto will bill your credit card for any return shipping should it be necessary.
  • Ask the clerk to execute the documents and place them in a sealed envelope addressed to the U.S. Passport Agency
  • If you encounter a problem with a clerk refusing to do this procedure, please refer them to page 31 of the Passport Agent’s Manual “Hand Carrying of Executed Applications”
  • Retain one (1) copy of the form DS-11 and one (1) copy of the Letter of Authorization for Casto

Step 3: Provide Casto with completed documents within 2 business days of obtaining sealed envelope

  • Sealed envelope from Step 2
  • Completed Casto Registration Form
  • One (1) copy of the form DS-11 and one (1) copy of the Letter of Authorization

  • Visit a Casto location; or
  • Send via FedEx, UPS, DHL, or Priority Overnight service (standard US Postal mail will not arrive in time) to: Casto Visa | Passport, 2560 North First Street, Suite 150, San Jose, CA 95131; or
  • Have our Courier Service pick up the documents from your office
