New Visitor Bureau Leadership Will Bring a Wealth of Business and Tourism Knowledge to San Jose
SAN JOSÉ, CA. —July 2, 2007—- New Board of Director leadership will help steer the San Jose Convention and Visitors Bureau, including new Chairman of the Board Marc Casto, President of Casto Travel. Past Chairman, Jan Sweetnam, Vice President of Federal Realty, will also continue on the Board. Other executive board leaders include Neil Struthers, San Benito/Santa Clara County Building Trades; Gary Hageman, Wyndham Hotel; Steve Koskie, Private Consultant; Cathy Kimball, San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art; and Chuck Bond, DiNapoli Capital Partners.
“The coming year will be an exciting one for the San Jose Convention and Visitors Bureau and Team San Jose,” said Dan Fenton, CEO and Chairman of Team San Jose, also the CEO of the San Jose Convention and Visitors Bureau, “the support and guidance we receive from our Board of Directors is critical to the success of both organizations.”
Team San Jose was created in 2003 and included a new Board of Directors that compliments its unique partnership of local San Jose labor, hoteliers, the arts and the convention and visitor bureau, all working together to provide seamless customer service. Team San Jose’s Vice Chair, Phaedra Ellis-Lamkins of the South Bay Labor Council will continue in this capacity. The executive board of Team San Jose includes: Michael Miller, American Musical Theater San Jose; John Southwell, San Jose Hilton and Towers; and Clif Clark, San Jose Marriott.
Team San Jose and the San Jose Convention and Visitors Bureau work in concert to promote tourism in San Jose and manage the San Jose McEnery Convention Center and cultural arts facilities. Both organizations are non-profit groups led by close to sixty members of the community.
