Founder and CEO


Maryles founded Casto in 1974. Drawing from her early experience as manager of in-flight services for Philippine Airlines, Maryles turned her company into the largest privately owned travel management agency in the Western United States.

Maryles provides the day-to-day leadership and strategic vision for the company that delivers comprehensive travel management services through its seven business units: Corporate Travel Management, Concierge Services, Visa | Passport, Group Travel, Vacations, and Rascals in Paradise.

Casto has been consistently ranked in the Top 100 Fastest Growing Businesses in both Silicon Valley and San Francisco and has won numerous entrepreneurial and service awards. In May 2006, Silicon Valley Business Journal ranked Casto second in revenues among Silicon Valley Women-Owned Businesses.

Active in several civic, philanthropic, and industry organizations over the course of her career, Maryles currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Commonwealth Club of California and the Bring Me a Book Foundation.   She also serves on the Advisory Board for First Act of San Jose and Leading Hotels of the World. She also is a member of The Committee of 200, a global organization of leading businesswomen, and the Women's Forum West.

Maryles Casto Wins Award for Second Largest Woman Owned Company  June 20, 2008       
On June 18 Maryles Casto received an award from the San Jose / Silicon Valley Business Journal, as the second largest woman owned company in Silicon Valley. In her acceptance letter Maryles was quoted as saying her success in growing Casto was due to "Having the best travel professionals in the industry as employees, an incredible list of clients, and a company that is willing to say 'Yes!' when others in the industry can only say 'No.'"
With annual sales in excess of $160 Million, 200 employees worldwide, and providing corporate, vacations, meeting, group and Visa/Passport travel services, Maryles is truly honored to have received this award from the Business Journal.

Maryles Casto Honored with Distinguished Citizen Award by Commonwealth Club  March 28, 2008
The Commonwealth Club honored six immigrants to the U.S. selected for having best achieved the American Dream at the group's 20th Annual Distinguished Citizen Award Dinner on April 30 at the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco. Those recognized were ... travel guru and owner of Casto Travel, Maryles Casto from the Philippines. The event honored immigrants who embody the American Dream.

SVSJ Business Journal 2008 Woman of Influence in Silicon Valley Award Feb. 29, 2008
Maryles Casto was honored by the Silicon Valley / San Jose Business Journal as a Woman of Influence. She notes that "global opportunities are tremendous for women entrepreneurs interested in starting their own business," a testament to her greatest achievement of starting Casto over 34 years ago.

Maryles Casto Attends Global Summit of Women in Cairo July 31, 2006
Santa Clara, CA - July 31, 2006 - Maryles Casto, founder of Casto, the largest privately owned travel management agency in the Western United States, recently joined more than 900 business, academic and political leaders at a three-day summit in Cairo, Egypt. The group's mission was to exchange ideas and discuss advancing the status of women in government and business. Known as "Davos for Women," after the famous World Economic Forum, the meeting also reviewed the economic profile of women in the Middle Eastern region.

Maryles was invited to the Cairo summit to participate in a panel discussion of entrepreneurship and building international businesses.

Washington sent a high-level delegation to the summit led by the U.S. State Department's Under Secretary for Sate Management, Henrietta H. Fore. The event was sponsored by IBM and moderated by Valerie Morris of CNN.

Maryles also attended the C200/Vietnam Women's Summit in April 2005 in Hanoi, where she co-chaired the C200 Spring MBA Outreach Seminar that awarded two $5,000 scholarships to outstanding female MBA students from the Hanoi School of Business at Vietnam National University.
